  The Accident

 

Every morning I go to school and meet with my friends.

We are always curious about the new things we will learn.

Miss López writes on the board all the things that we must learn.

Then she erases the board to write the next lesson, while we sit quietly at our desks.

We love recess the best! We run out at once, and run all around and play games.

Sometimes we fall to the ground and scrape our knees!

My friend Saúl likes to climb a tree.

It is tall with long branches and green leaves that turn brown.

But today, my friends suddenly falls with a yell!

Miss López runs to Saúl to help.

He cries as she checks to see if he has hurt himself.

She soon finds out that his leg was hurts!

The rest of us go back into the classroom.

We pick our pencils up and write.

But I am sad for Saúl, and I wonder if he will come back and be all right
