Reseña de Historia de Estados Unidos es una publicación del Departamento de Estado de EE.UU. La primera edición (1949-50) fue elaborada bajo la dirección editorial de Francis Whitney, en un principio por la Oficina de Información Internacional del Departamento de Estado y más tarde por el Servicio Cultural e Informativo de Estados Unidos. Richard Hofstadter, profesor de historia en la Universidad Columbia, y Wood Gray, catedrático de historia de Estados Unidos en la Universidad George Washington, colaboraron como consultores académicos. D. Steven Endsley de Berkeley, California, preparó el material adicional. A través de los años, la obra ha sido actualizada y revisada en forma exhaustiva por varios especialistas, entre ellos Keith W. Olsen, profesor de historia de Estados Unidos en la Universidad de Maryland, y Nathan Glick, escritor y ex director de la revista Dialogue (Facetas) de USIA.
